Morocco sack Troussier (31.12.2005)
The Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has terminated the contract of their French coach Philippe Troussier, after just two months in charge of the national team.
"We have deeply diverging views and unfortunately we cannot continue this way. So we decided to end the deal amicably," the FRMF said in a statement on Friday.
Troussier was appointed on 29 October to replace Badou Zaki who resigned after the North Africans failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.
The Frenchman had been due to name his African Nations Cup squad
before the FRMF sacked him.
Troussier had signed a five-year contract that would have taken him through to the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.
Troussier returned to Africa, the continent in which he made his name as a coach and earned the nickname "the white witchdoctor", after being sacked by French club Olympique Marseille in June.
A former national coach of the Ivory Coast, Nigeria and South Africa, Troussier was in charge of South Africa at the 1998 World Cup finals and managed Japan when they were co-hosts of the 2002 tournament.
