Fadiga set for Senegal return (03.02.2005)
Khalilou Fadiga is in line to make his first appearance for Senegal next week since suffering a heart problem in 2003.
Senegal coach Guy Stephan has named the 30-year-old among a 21-man squad for next Tuesday`s friendly against Cameroon.
Fadiga`s return to the Teranga Lions squad marks his rehabilitation after surgery on his heart last year.
The Bolton Wanderers midfielder has spent 19 months in the international wilderness following the discovery of a heart defect in July 2003.
To correct a problem which curtailed his career with Italy`s Inter Milan, Fadiga had an automatic defibrillator implanted in his chest last October.
This came 48 hours after a worrying incident where one of Senegal`s best players at the 2002 World Cup finals collapsed in the warm-up prior to a Carling Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur.
