Indomitable Lions do it at the death (27.03.2005)
Eurosport.com
African giants Cameroon needed a last-gasp winner to seal a 2-1 win and keep their World Cup dream on track against unfancied Sudan on Sunday. The 108th-ranked minnows kept Cameroon at bay even after the dismissal of Amir Koku until striker Pierre Webo nicked the points deep into injury time.
Webo`s winner sent waves of relief coursing around a packed stadium in Yaounde, as a draw would have left Cameroon six points adrift of Group Three leaders Ivory Coast after the Ivorian`s widely-anticipated win over Benin.
It is the second time Sudan have succumbed to a
late Cameroonian goal in the present campaign, having conceded a 92nd-minute Joseph-Desire Job equaliser in last October`s 1-1 draw.
ZIMBABWE 2-0 ANGOLA
Striker Benjani Mwaruwari scored his first international goal for four years as his country moved into position to qualify for the 2006 African Nations Cup.
After failing to win in the whole of 2004, Zimbabwe moved above Gabon into third place in Group Four, denying Angola the chance to go top.
Shingirai Kawondera opened the scoring on the hour, before Auxerre man Benjani made the points safe 20 minutes from time.
