Jobs signs on at Boro (11.07.2004)
Middlesbrough striker Joseph Desire Job has signed a new two-year deal at the Riverside Stadium.
The Cameroon international was out of contract after the expiry of his initial four-year deal at the end of the season.
But Job, who arrived on Teeside in a £3m deal from Lens in 2000, has now agreed a new deal that sees him boost manager Steve McClaren`s options in attack.
Boro completed the signing of Mark Viduka on Thursday, while they
continue to be linked with out-of-favour Barcelona forward Patrick Kluivert and Portsmouth`s Nigerian international forward Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
The latter remains a distinct possibility despite Portsmouth`s insistence that last season`s top goal scorer will not be leaving Pompey.
The former Maccabi Haifa forward`s agent revealed earlier in the week that his client was in talks with Boro, although the player himself maintains that he is at Fratton Park.
