Eto`o may return (15.10.2004)
Cameroon`s Samuel Eto`o Fils looks set lead Barcelona`s attack against city rivals Espanyol this weekend.
This despite the fact that the African Player of the Year spent a night in hospital with a stomach problem and was then involved in a spectacular car crash all within a week.
"I feel OK. I hope to be fit enough to be available for the coach on Saturday," Eto`o said.
The problems for this season`s joint leading scorer in Spain began nearly two weeks ago when he left for Cameroon`s World Cup qualifier against Sudan.
Stomach trouble forced Eto`o to head back, with a worsening in
his condition obliging him to stay overnight in a Paris clinic.
After a swift recovery, he then paid a visit to Majorca, where he spent five years until his move to Barcelona in the summer.
But last Sunday, Eto`o was lucky to have emerge unscathed when his Mercedes hit a highway fence after a high-speed collision with a car he was overtaking.
If Eto`o does play he will almost certainly come up against his Indomitable Lions teammate Idriss Kameni who is the goalkeeper for Espanyol.
Saturday`s derby promises to be exciting, with Barcelona unbeaten so far and Espanyol in fifth place.
