Martin Etonge
Defending champions Canon Yaounde are in for a difficult start of the season. After a 3-0 dropping from Racing in day one, Canon have gone down again. This time in Limbe, where locals Victoria United punished them 1-0. Those were the first three points for United a.k.a OPOPO.
The poor run has sent Canon fans panicking, afriad that the team may not finish amongst the best this season.
The defeat also leaves Canon on the bottom of the table, alongside Caiman Douala who lost for the second consecutive time too. Giants Coton Sport Garoua had their first win for the season, 2-1 over Caiman in Douala.
Sable Batie made a remarkable come back with a 3-0 spanking of Tonnerre in Yaounde. It was the heaviest defeat of the day, after that of Canon in day one.
Mount Cameroon Buea and PWD Bamenda are top on the table with 6 points a piece, following their two wins in two games.
Like in day one, Mount Cameroon managed a one nil victory, this time over Renaissance Ngoumou in Yaounde. A similar scoreline sanctioned the game between PWD and Unisport in Bafang.
Like Coton Sport, Union Douala, Cintra Yaounde and Fovu Baham are 2 points behind them. In their day two actions, Cintra created a surprise by deafeating day one performants Racing Bafoussam 2-1, away in Bafoussam.
While Fovu beat Stade Bandjoun 2-0, also away in Bandjoun. It was also a 2-0 away win for Union Douala over Bamboutos Mbouda.
