Song hints at Metz return
Rigobert Song has revealed that Metz chairman Carlo Molinari is keen to bring the Cameroon defender back to Stade St Symphorien.
The Cameroon international made a name for himself in Ligue 1 with Les Grenats from 1994 to 1998 and it would appear he is ready to return.
Song has enjoyed a successful spell in Turkey with Galatasaray, but it would appear he is planning to move on.
“I have been with Galatasaray for four seasons,” Song told football365.fr. “I am living a passionate experience in a team that is always ambitious. And the fans are very warm.
“I want to see something else. I would like to change. I still have a lot to give and my contract will expire next June.
“The club offered me the chance to extend my contract. But I don’t want to; I am waiting for December to take a decision.
“Every time that I have a holiday, I return to France, to Paris. I am always nearby. I have nothing against a return to the French league, so why not?
“Metz are one of my best memories. They are the team that opened the doors to me, gave me the joy of football.
“I am going to tell you an exclusive: chairman Molinari and I are still in contact and he told me that I will always be welcomed there.
“He would like the former players to return. Metz is home. The doors are always wide open.”
