Cameroon bans cheats
Cameroon`s Football Federation, Fecafoot, has handed down one-year bans to eleven players in the domestic league for fraud.
Eight first division players, including Dorge Rostard Kouemaha, last season`s top scorer, were found guilty of signing for two clubs.
Kouemaha, who played for relegated Victoria United, signed contracts with Union Douala and Fovu Baham.
Bernard Ngom Some, brother to Cameroon international Daniel Ngom Kome, is also on the list of suspended players.
The 21-year-old Some, who is still under contract with Sable Batie, negotiated a deal to play for Union Douala.
Aimé Gérard Mangolo and Jean Charles Ndjom were found guilty of signing for Canon Yaounde and Union Douala simultaneously.
Martin Zockakoung, Olivier Bakang, Alim Hamadama and Raymond Tombe are the other first division players found guilty of similar acts.
Three players in the second division - Evariste Medego, Blaise Nitcheu and Eric Yosse, were also punished for the same offence.
Double registration has been a recurring problem in Cameroon but Fecafoot has vowed to come down hard on players that violate the rules.
Six players were sanctioned for similar offences in 2004.
The computerisation of Fecafoot`s records, which were handwritten until two years ago, has helped in catching the cheats.
