Mali invites Cameroon and South Africa for inaugurating friendly
Cameroon and South Africa have been invited to take part in a stadium inaugurating friendly encounter in Mali next month.
Malian officials say, the new 60,000 seater stadium situated on the outskirts of Bamako and named the “26th of March” (the date to commemorates the end of military rule in the west African country ten years ago), is expected to host next year`s African Nations Cup final.
According to the inaugurating, programme,Mali will play South Africa on October 12 in the first game at the new stadium followed by Cameroon two days later.
Mali is also due to host the regional Amilcar Cabral Cup in November in a further warm-up for the Nations Cup finals, which will be held from January 19 to February 10.
The Amilcar Cabral Cup is contested annually by countries from the west African region.
The draw of the final phase of the African cup of nations have been slated for September 8.
