Winfried Schafer, calls to camp 25 foreign based players
The Indomitable Lions of Camerooon trainer, Winfried Schafer, has called to camp 25 foreign based players in preparation for the 2002 African Nations cup in Mali.
It would be the second regrouping of the current African champions who have seen their test match against Colombia on November 24 in New York and participation in the Afro-Asian tournament cancelled.
During the second regrouping, the pre-selected Lions apart from meeting with a German first division club, FC Cologne on November 10, will fly to meet Emmanuel Olisadebe’s Poland. It will be the second time the two national teams are meeting after the zero all tie in the 1982 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Winfried Schafer, will on Thursday, October 18 wrap-up the last phase training of some selected home based players that began on October 10, 2001.
