Mezague back in Cameroon squad

Midfielder Valery Mezague has been recalled to Cameroon`s squad for the World Cup qualifier against Sudan in Yaounde on March 27. The French-born Portsmouth midfielder is one of four changes to Portuguese coach Artur Jorge`s 23-man squad following Cameroon`s 1-0 win over Senegal last month.

The French-born Portsmouth midfielder, who won the last of his seven caps in April, is one of four changes to Portuguese coach Artur Jorge`s 23-man squad following Cameroon`s 1-0 win over Senegal in a friendly played in France last month.
Midfielder Alioum Saidou of Turkish club Malatyaspor also returns and could win his first cap since 1997 while 20-year-old defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto, another French-born player, is in first full season in France`s Ligue 1 with Racing Lens.
The other change sees the inclusion of midfielder Daniel Ngom Kome who plays for Getafe in Spain`s Primera Liga.
Cameroon, preparing for only their second match under the experienced Jorge, are four points behind leaders Ivory Coast in Group Three after five games and must win to boost their chances of reaching the World Cup finals for a fifth successive time.
