Kameni intends to stay put

Espanyol keeper Carlos Kameni insists he has no intention of leaving the Olympic Stadium even though he has yet to agree a new deal with the club.
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from a number of top sides in Europe, including Manchester United and Arsenal, following an impressive debut season for Espanyol during which he saved four of the five penalties he faced.
The Primera Liga outfit are keen to hold onto the Cameroon international as they prepare for UEFA Cup football next season, and have offered Kameni a three-year extension to his present contract, which expires in 2007.
However, the African stopper admits he is holding out for a better deal even though he wants to stay with the club.
"I don`t want people to think that I want to go, I came here with the intention of staying and playing," Kameni told Marca.
"I am very happy here at Espanyol and in Barcelona although it is true that a lot of teams have asked about me.
"I hope that everything sorts itself out as soon as possible but it is important that people realise my worth, I am not asking for a lot of money."
