O`Leary waiting on Djemba-Djemba
Aston Villa are still waiting for Eric Djemba-Djemba to report back for duty - five days after Cameroon`s exit from the African Cup of Nations.
Villa boss David O`Leary wanted the midfielder available for Saturday`s game with Newcastle as Gavin McCann and James Milner are unavailable.
"We`ve been trying to get in touch with his agent," said O`Leary.
"We know they had to return to Cameroon after getting knocked out. But we saw Geremi back at Chelsea on Wednesday."
O`Leary signed Djemba-Djemba for £1.35m from United 13 months ago but he has struggled to make an impact with Villa.
Djemba-Djemba recently accused O`Leary of "not understanding French-type players" - a comment angrily denied by the Villa chief.
O`Leary added: "We were hoping for him to be back and were pinning our hopes on him returning on Thursday."
