They beat the Democratic Republic of Congo 3-0 on Saturday to qualify on a 5-0 aggregate. Cameroon has qualified for the 7th edition of the African Cup of Nations in feminine football. The Indomitable Lionesses obtained their qualification ticket after beating the democratic Republic of Congo on away and home basis. In the away leg match a fortnight ago in Kinshasa, Cameroon edged the Democratic Republic of Congo, 2-0 before trouncing them 3-0 in the return leg last Saturday at the Mfandena sports complex in Yaounde to qualify on a 5-0 aggregate.
Cameroon got the first goal at the
23rd minute through Ngono Mani and obtained a second goal at the 45th minute through Gaelle Enganamouit. The Lionesses continued domination upon resumption of play in the second half and the efforts of Aboudi Onguene, who turned out to be the best player of the match, were compensated at the 86th minute when she got the third goal for Cameroon.
Though the Democratic Republic of Congo turned out to an easy push-over for Cameroon, the Girls of Enow Ngatchou need to still work hard given that they will be rivalling with giants like Nigeria and the winner of the last edition of the tournament, Equatorial Guinea.
