Real Madrid are ready to sign Sammy Eto`o to a new contract until 2009.
Real will buy the full ownership of Eto`os registration from Mallorca once he has agreed terms on the contract. The Madrid giants are already in talks with the Cameroon international`s representatives.
Real hope the long-term contract will convince Eto`o that they
have faith in his ability, a complaint the African centred at them last week when discussing his future.
Real director Emilio Butragueño said yesterday: "Samuel Eto`o is a very interesting player for the future of Real Madrid."
Its expected Real will allow Eto`o to play another season on-loan at Mallorca as they cannot make room in their squad for him due to his non-EU status.
