Weah, 35, continues his playing career for another 2 years
Liberia`s football star, George Weah, has signed a two-year contract with Abu Dhabi based Al Jazira.
The news was carried in the UAE paper, the Khaleej Times online.
The Liberian international becomes the biggest name to sign for a club in the United Arab Emirates after Chilean international Christian Montecinos joined Dubai`s Al Wasl last week.
Weah joins Liberia`s James Debbah and Nigeria`s
Emmanuel Abibi at the club.
Al Jazira club President, Butti Al Qubaisi, said, "We didn`t have any difficulty in coming to an agreement with Weah. We never had to negotiate".
Weah has played in France, Italy and England, finalized the deal on Sunday, and will join the side in a weeks time.
The fomer World footballer of the year said he was very happy with the move.
"My other option was to stay in the US with my family and probably finish my playing career".
