Cameroon striker Patrick Mboma has hinted that he could be looking to secure a permanent move to Sunderland, saying: "I feel at home here".
The striker - on loan until the end of the season - says he has already fallen in love with his new club, and admits he was bowled over by his reception from the fans against Bolton on Tuesday night.
"I feel like I have been at the club for several years because of the fans and because I have been helped so much by my team-mates, the coaches and the manager," the 31-year-old said.
"It was very
nice to get the reception I did from the fans, but it was something I expected after the way they were to me in my first game against Newcastle.
"To have more than 40,000 people all screaming my name is something really important to me - and it helped me play better."
Mboma added: "This is the best start I have had at a new club. I have also played in France and Italy but it`s better here.
"We are on the field to play, not to rest and - as many people told me before I came here - the Premiership is the best league for me to play in."
