Nigeria`s Jay-Jay Okocha created history on Saturday when he scored the 1,000th African Cup of Nations goal.
The Super Eagles captain achieved the feat when he put Nigeria 2-0 up against Group D rivals South Africa from the penalty spot.
His side went on to beat Bafana Bafana 4-0.

Okocha, who plays for Bolton Wanderers in the English Premiership, was presented with a trophy at the end of the emphatic victory.
Prior to the Nigeria game, this year`s Cup of Nations had produced 41 goals to add to the 957 scored in the 23 previous editions of the tournament.
