Caf president Issa Hayatou has been confined to a hospital bed after an operation on his right foot.
Hayatou, who went through the procedure in Athens on Friday, is expected to be out of hospital within a week.
"The surgery took approximately two hours and he did extremely well. There are no complications, and a full recovery is expected," doctors said.
The
58-year-old Cameroonian, who was at the Athens Olympics as head of Fifa`s Olympic football organising committee, was admitted to the Evangelismo hospital after rupturing a tendon.
Mustapha Fahmy, Caf`s secretary-general, said the president was in high spirits despite the mishap.
"Everything is fine and the president continued watching the Olympics games from his hospital bed."
