Nigeria coach Festus Onigbinde believes his side`s run of five wins in seven friendlies before the World Cup has given the Super Eagles a crucial confidence boost.
"The friendlies have been very important for us and now I`m concentrating on the general fitness of my players," he told onefootball.com.
Nigeria were in disarray after being eliminated in the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup by Senegal early in the year.
But since Onigbinde took over, the Super Eagles`
performanceshave steadily improved and they have yet to lose in his tenure.
Nigeria face Argentina in Ibraki in their opening Group F fixture on Sunday, but will remain in their Hiratsuka base until Thursday.
"We will depart for Ibaraki on Friday. That will give us enough time to settle down and prepare for this all-important match," said Onigbinde.
The one slight concern for the Super Eagles is over left-back Ifeanyi Udeze, but he has resumed training and should be ready for the Argentina game.
