MILAN, Italy,
Brazilian superstar Ronaldo finally put an end to his injury nightmare on Sunday when he made his long-awaited comeback.
The 25-year-old Inter Milan striker, who missed the whole of last season because of a knee injury, enjoyed a gentle 35-minute workout in a friendly against Nigerian champions Enyimba before making way for Nicola Ventola.
His appearance also gave Inter coach Hector Cuper a close up view of his recovery and the Argentinian must have been impressed as Ronaldo put his knee to the test.
It took him just three minutes to get into his stride, showing close control and
hitting a low left footed shot which was comfortably dealt with by the goalkeeper.
Then he played a part in the first goal crossing for Christian Vieri to head home in the 20th minute.
"I am in good shape and focused and I hope to score a lot of goals for Inter," the injury-jinxed Brazilian star said.
"My knee felt fine and I am very confident about the future," said Ronaldo who received a huge ovation when he left the field.
The Brazilian hasn`t played since April 12 last year when he injured his knee on his comeback match in an Italian Cup match against Lazio.
