Coventry have signed Cameroon striker Patrick Suffo on a free transfer. The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year-deal with City after passing his medical.
Suffo scored twice on his debut in the 10-1 demolition of Weismain during the pre-season tour of Germany and impressed in the final game against Regensburg.
He started his career as a trainee at Nantes before a spell with the Barcelona B team in the Spanish second division.
And he has valuable experience of the English football following a spell with Sheffield United, scoring five goals in 16 starts in a two-year spell for the Blades.
At international level Suffo has scored four goals in 29 international appearances as well as winning an Olympic Gold medal at the Sydney Olympics.
At the end of his deal with Sheffield United he spent a successful loan period with Spanish outfit Numancia and signed for the duration of last season.
Suffo will go directly into Gary McAllister´s plans for tomorrow´s friendly with Oxford United at
theKassam Stadium.
Adebola is desperate to get off the mark for his new club
Meanwhile, Dele Adebola is enjoying life at Coventry and hopes to score his first goal in a Sky Blue shirt against Oxford.
The 28-year-old striker has yet to appear on the scoresheet for Gary McAllister´s side in the four friendlies he has played since joining the club on a free transfer this summer.
But he is optimistic it will not be long before he breaks his duck for his new club.
"One thing I´ve been working on a bit harder is my finishing and that´s the last thing to kick in for me at the moment," Adebola told the club´s official website.
"I´m certainly getting there and I´m extremely confident."
The Nigerian also believes the Sky Blues´ pre-season friendly programme is serving them well.
He added: "If you don´t come out of a game having taken something from it there´s no point in playing.
"Every game we definitely learn a little bit more about each other."
