Senegalese-born defender Adama Mohammed Sarr has been fully signed by Italian giants AC Milan.
Sarr, who was born in Dakar on December 23, 1983, has been signed from Italian second division club Treviso.
He was on loan to AC Milan, and clinched his permanent move after helping them win the famous Viareggio youth tournament in February.
Sarr scored a goal in the final and was believed to have been spotted by scouts from other top Italian Serie A clubs, Juventus, Roma, Udinese and Fiorentina.
AC Milan quickly paid out £1m, and Sarr signed a five-year contract.
The rising Senegalese star continues to play for the Primavera team or youth team of AC Milan, but could be soon playing for the first team.
His chances of progress are enhanced by the fact that he has the status of an EC player, thanks to a
particularlaw of Italian football.
The law stipulates that players who come to Italy without ever having signed a contract in their own countries should be considered as "Italian players".
This allows many "foreign" players to turn out for their clubs without the problems that non-EC players face.
Sarr was spotted by Treviso from a football school near Dakar and Treviso became his first club as a professional footballer.
Sarr is following in the footsteps of Nigeria`s Mohammed Aliyu, who also played and won the Viareggio tournament with AC Milan three years ago.
But Aliyu was unable to sign a full contract with Milan because he did not have the status of an EC player.
He is currently on loan to second division side Monza, a satellite club of AC Milan, where he plays alongside former Middlesbrough forward Marco Branca.
