Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle watched Real Mallorca`s Samuel Eto`o on Sunday and was very impressed with him - according to the Cameroon star`s agent.
The former Real Madrid starlet has been watched by a whole host of scouts in recent weeks including Bolton, Leeds, Sunderland and Rangers and Spurs are the latest club on the 21-year-old`s trail, who moved to Majorca from the Bernabeu in June last year for £4.5million.
However, with Mallorca still not assured of their La Liga status going into the last game of the season this weekend, Eto`o, it seems, appears to be looking for a move away from the holiday island.
His agent Willie McKay told TEAMtalk: "The situation is Glenn Hoddle was at Madrid on Sunday and he was very impressed
with Samuel Eto`o.
"Mallorca have a very important match on Friday to stay up and they are just one of five clubs that are very interested in signing him.
"Three or four Spanish clubs want to sign him and Atletico Madrid have offered him a big deal and Real Madrid want him back.
"He has a four years to run on his contract and he would prefer a move to the Premier League."
Eto`o has been linked with a £7million move to White Hart Lane, but McKay is sure the striker - who is tipped to star in the World Cup - will command a larger fee than £7million.
"The fee will be more than £7million, he is 21 and he will be one of the best players in the World Cup and he is looking forward to playing England," added McKay.
