Indomitable Lions ready to hang Warriors (29.01.2004)

Judging from the ambiance in the Cameroon camp, it is difficult to think that Zimbabwe have any chances of having a point in the game against the Indomitable Lions tomorrow.
After a disappointing one all draw with Algeria in the first match, the Indomitable Lions appear ready to take their first win against Zimbabwe on Thursday. The morale of the players is very high and determination is on all faces.
Left-winger Idrissou Mohamadou says they must beat Zimbabwe to reassure fans that Cameroon are in Tunisia to win the trophy.
“We are all focused on the game (against Zimbabwe) and we have trained very well to make sure victory is on our side. We have to win to ascertain our legitimate ambition to take the cup”.
Hopefully there will be no particular changes on their technical and tactical game plan. And it will be left for the Zimbabwe Warriors to battle off the kind of pressure
Algeria received from the Lions last Sunday.
Daniel Ngom Kome says besides the normal preparations, they have worked on their finishing skills. Finish was certainly the greatest problem with the Lions in the game against Algerian.
Despite an overwhelming domination of Algeria, Cameroon managed to score just one goal, blowing numerous others off target.
However, that draw may become a blessing in disguise. Ngom Kome says it has provided them extra tonic and motivation to crush Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe have never beaten Cameroon and they have never met at the finals of the Nations Cup, as Zimbabwe are in the first participation. Both teams last played against each other in July 2001 in a World Cup qualifier that Cameroon won 2-1 in Zimbabwe.
No injuries have been signaled within the Cameroon squad as they left their base in Sousse this morning for Sfax, where they will face Zimbabwe at the Mhiri Stadium tomorrow.
