Senegal recall captain Cissé (06.11.2001)
Defender Coly returns for Senegal action after injury
Senegal`s French coach Bruno Metsu has recalled captain Aliou Cissé and defender Ferdinand Coly for Thursday`s friendly against South Korea.
The duo missed the warm-up against World Cup co-hosts Japan in October due to injury.
The Lions, who have qualified for the World Cup for the first time, beat Japan 2-0 in the friendly in the French city of Lens.
The entire 20-man squad play abroad - many of them with French clubs, who are against the Far East trip because of its arduous nature.
Metsu had also complained that the trip was "a real pain" because of its ten-hour flight and eight-hour time difference.
The coach said the only benefit is playing a World Cup team and in Jenjou - one of the tournament venues.
Teenage defender Mohammed Adama Sarr will be making the trip after his Italian club AC Milan agreed to release him.
Sarr will be hoping for a better second cap after his first ended in a disaster.
He was sent off shortly after coming onto the pitch against Togo in a Nations`
Cup qualifier.
Egypt versus Liberia
Talented Portugal-based striker Fary Faye and defenders Baye Ali Kébé and wing-back Habib Beye were not named.
Thursday`s match, to kick off at 1900 hrs (1100 GMT), is also part of Senegal`s preparations for the Nations` Cup in Mali, starting on January 19.
On Wednesday, two Nations` Cup teams Egypt and Liberia meet in a warm-up in Cairo.
Liberia`s technical director George Weah has included in the squad two new faces - goalies Pewu Bestman and Abraham Jackson.
But there is no place for first-choice players Zizi Roberts, James Debbah, Oliver Makor, and Christopher Wreh.
Also on Wednesday, Morocco host Zambia in a friendly to prepare both sides for the Nations` Cup.
