Barcelona striker Samuel Eto`o is being linked with Chelsea and Arsenal with English newspaper reports claiming contrasting offers from the London rivals.
While the Blues offer is reported to be 50 million pound, the Gunners feel confident with a reported 20 million pound.
25-year-old Cameroon star Eto’o has not yet made a starting return to Barca following his knee injury-enforced long lay-off. And he was involved in a shocking controversy over a substitute appearance recently, and went on to blast coach Frank
Rijkaard and team-mate Ronaldinho.
The unsavoury situation had been patched up soon later, but the rift in the Catalan giants was evident. And in fact, Eto’o could be sold in the summer, if Barcelona continue to flounder this season.
The reigning European and Spain champions are yet to look convincing this season although they are at the top of La Liga table.
Meanwhile a Stamford Bridge source has been quoted by The News of the World, saying: "If Eto`o is available then Chelsea will easily top any offer for him. There is no one better out there."
