He made the appeal in a meeting which brought together all the components of Cameroon`s delegation in Egypt.
The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Philippe Mbarga Mboa, who doubles as the head of Cameroon`s official delegation to the 25th African Cup of Nations in Egypt, yesterday enjoined all Cameroonians in Egypt to remain united behind the Indomitable Lions. "We are all here to support our national football team and defend our national colours" he said.
He made the appeal in a meeting at the Sheraton Royal Garden Hotel, which brought together all the components of Cameroon`s delegation in Egypt - culture, communication, Cameroon Football Federation, supporters, etc. It was an occasion for officials of the different delegations to present their actions and problems.
The
representative of the Ministry of Culture, Venant Meligua, for example, said besides cheering up the Lions during matches, artists brought in by the Ministry of Culture would present several concerts in Egypt. On some occasions, they would be accompanied by Egyptian artists.
The first Vice President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Jean Rene Atangana Mballa said everything has been put in place to keep the players at ease. He nonetheless said the federation had difficulties with the Egyptian customs to bring in equipment of the team. The problem was however resolved by officials of Cameroon`s Embassy in Egypt. According to the Charge d`Affair of the Embassy, Masso Ma Biumla, they are doing everything at their reach to ensure the well being of all Cameroonians in Egypt, especially those who have come for the African Cup of Nations.
