Morocco to experiment with professional football league starting in 2003 (29.09.2001)
RABAT,
Moroccan football will experiment with a new format of two fully professional divisions as of the 2003-04 season, the country`s football body FRMF said here on Friday.
The old 16-team league format will
be replaced by a top-flight of 12 teams and two regional, north and south, 12-team second divisions.
"The decision was taken to allow elite football to better meet the expectations of the fans," said a FRMF statement.
