Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins has vowed to make his long-awaited debut for Nigeria at the weekend.
Martins, invited to play in Nigeria`s matches against the Republic of Ireland and Jamaica in London on May 29 and 31, is expected to join up with his colleagues.
"I will be in London on Wednesday for the matches," Martins told a Nigerian radio station on Tuesday.
"I`m looking forward to winning my first cap for my country."
The 19-year-old striker
has turned down several other invitations to play for Nigeria, insisting he needed to establish himself at Inter.
Manager Christian Chukwu recently warned Martins that he risked being overlooked should he fail to honour the latest call-up.
Strikers Nwankwo Kanu, Yakubu Ayegbeni and defender Joseph Yobo have opted out of the two matches.
But Bartholomew Ogbeche, who plays for French club Bastia, is expected to make his return to the Nigerian side.
