Inamoto named Asian player of the month (03.09.2002)
Japan midfielder Junichi Inamoto has been named Asian player of the month by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after scoring a hat-trick for Fulham in the Intertoto Cup final last week.
Inamoto, who helped co-hosts Japan reach the second round of the World Cup this year, also scored in the first leg as English premier league side Fulham beat Italian club Bologna 5-3 on aggregate to qualify for this season`s

The 22-year-old has resurrected his career after a frustrating season in the reserves at English champions Arsenal.
Despite scoring twice during the World Cup, Inamoto was told by Arsenal that he was surplus to requirements.
London rivals Fulham won the chase for his signature in July and Inamoto joined on a one-year loan deal from J-League club Gamba Osaka.
