Hon Charmant Oyal : "Players Regularly Registered" (07.12.2005)
Hon Charmant Oyal, Sports Director of Union Abong Mbang, says anything outside the pitch is pure distraction.
Union Douala has protested against six of your players fielded in your match against them on the third playing day of Interpools. What is your reaction?
We came to play football on the pitch and not out of it. I think some other people are in Buea for out-of-the-pitch distractions. What I know is that all our players are regularly registered at the FECAFOOT.
Union Douala’s representative claims that they got the lists of the various players only on the first playing day during the
technicalmeeting. When did you get yours?
That is why I talk of distraction. We got the lists through the FECAFOOT website one week before the Interpools began. We are very far in the East Province and Douala is closer to Yaounde than Abong Mbang. We go to Yaounde only once in a while. We concentrate much on football but others may just have it as a hobby.
Has this protest affected the moral of your boys?
It has not. We are second after the third playing day with the same number of points as the first (Impôts FC). We have not lost any match. Our boys are ambitious and hope to climb to division one.
