Spartak Moscow`s want-away defender Jerry-Christian Tchuisse has had his trial at Shakhtar Donetsk`s Spanish training camp cut short after Ukraine officials claimed the Russians were demanding a prohibitive transfer fee.
"Spartak`s evaluation of the player`s transfer value is too high," said Shakhtar general manager Yevhen Kanana.
Tchuisse played in only one of Shakhtar`s training games, against semi-professional Swiss club Boux, as his stay was cut to two days instead of the planned five.
Nevio Scala`s team won 6-1, and Tchuisse was impressive in the 45 minutes he had on the pitch.
Tchuisse himself is
reluctant to leave Russia but he is unhappy with the situation at Spartak and needs to change club.
The Cameroon-born star made history as the first African to collect a Russian championship medal but things soured when, after being granted citizenship, Tchuisse was mysteriously dropped after being called up by Russia.
There were even claims that Russia coach Oleg Romantsev had been lent on by the Russian Mafia, and, as he also coaches Spartak, Tchuisse has been forced to look at other options.
"In such circumstances, Shakhtar`s offer seems to be an acceptable alternative, but not everything depends upon what I want," said Tchuisse.
