Preston have signed Portsmouth winger Franck Songo`o on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old - son of Cameroon World Cup goalkeeper Jacques - has struggled to make the breakthrough at Fratton Park, making just three first-team appearances - all as a substitute - since moving to Pompey from Barcelona in the summer of 2005.
He spent time on loan at League One side Bournemouth earlier this season and his arrival at Deepdale is
atimely one for manager Paul Simpson, who has seen his midfield options restricted by injuries to Simon Whaley, Paul McKenna, Lewis Neal and Joe Anyinsah.
Simpson told North End`s official website: "From what I have seen of him so far, he`s different from what we`ve already got; he`s got good pace, good feet and he`s an exciting winger who runs at defenders.
"He is a player in an area we are short and he should bring some good qualities."
