The government of Cameroon has tightened the laws governing trips to the World Cup to prevent unscrupulous tour operators leaving fans stranded in Japan and Korea.
The country`s minister for sports has set tough conditions on companies wishing to organise charter trips to the Far East.
During previous trips to major football tournaments, some fans had their experience spoiled by tour managers who failed to deliver many of the
services promised, including getting tickets for the games.
Now the ministry says a number of checks will be carried out before a tour operator is licence to take fans abroad.
These include a certificate of non-conviction, a police report on the operator, and all evidence of lodging, logistics, insurance, and World Cup tickets.
On top of that, a deposit of between £300 and £700 will now required for a licence to be granted.
