The man to lead the Lions to the African nations cup in Mali and the World football cup next year is German born, Winfred Schafer.
Born on January 10, 1950, Winfred, who started his coaching career in 1980 with Karlsruher SC, did not only win four UEFA cups with the club, but also took them to the first division in 1996.
From Karlsruher SC, he move to Stugart and Hertha Berlin after being elected best coach of the year in 1991. While in Stugart, he once more showed that he is a man to
counton by leading the club to the 1999 – 2000 UEFA cup.
With Offenbach, he grabbed the championship title from 1970 – 1975, with Karlsruher SC from 1975 –1977 and won the UEFA cup in 1979.
Married since 1970 with two children, Schafer, has played professional football with Offenbach, Karlsruher SC and Borussia Monchenglabach before embracing the coaching career.
Though, he is making his first African coaching stop in Cameroon, many are those who believed he can be up to the task.
