Cameroon midfielder Marc Vivien Foe is expected to complete a season-long loan deal from Lyon to Manchester City "in the next few days".
City boss Kevin Keegan has been tracking former West Ham man Foe for some considerable time and is keen to further strengthen his squad ahead of the club`s return to the Premiership next season.
City would have then have the option of buying the 27-year-old, who is currently on World
Cup duty.
"Foe should sign a contract in the next few days which would take him to Manchester City for a year in the Premiership," a statement from Lyon read.
"There will be the option of purchasing the player after a year since Marc is still under contract with Olympique Lyonnais for two years.
"An agreement between the two clubs was found and the Cameroon player should make the decision soon."
