Indomitable Lions’ plan to prepare for Confederations Cup (19.01.2003)
The director of sports, Robert Ndzana, who doubles as caretaker administrative manager of the national football teams has released the preparation plan of the Indomitable Lions for next June s Confederations Cup.
The team will start with a test game against Cote d Ivoire on 11 February in France, during a Fifa free period.
And then on 28 March, the Lions will begin participating in a four-nation invitational tournament in Tunisia. The other opponents in the tournament include Australia,
Algeria and hosts Tunisia.
Ndzana said no friendlies could be negotiated for the month of April, but that the Lions will go into camp as early as 9 June in France. The training site has not yet been found, he added.
Ndjana also hoped that during the camping, at least two test games against French division one teams will be obtained, before the real action begins in Paris on 19 June.
The Lions, as African title holders are representing African in the Confederations Cup.
