The USA will be looking to bounce back from two successive defeats when they take on Cameroon in the Confederations Cup.
Bruce Arena´s men have lost to Turkey and Brazil so far in Group B and cannot qualify for the semi-finals, while Cameroon top the group after a brace of wins.
But the American coach has admitted the games are far more important than just the result and he is looking at the long-term future of the side.
"These tournament games are invaluable for us and if we can show improvement that´s good," Arena said.

"Our objective is to prepare a new team for when we begin World Cup qualifying next year.
"I´ll probably play a somewhat different line-up against Cameroon but we´ll be approaching the game with a positive attitude."
The form of goalkeeper Tim Howard, linked with a move to Manchester United, has given the Americans something to cheer during the competition.
"Tim has proven he´s an outstanding goalkeeper, and I wish him all the best if he moves to the big club we hear him being associated with," Arena added.
