Eto`o wants rest from Japan game (18.08.2007)
Barcelona`s Cameroon striker Samuel Eto`o said he hoped to be exempt from playing for his national team next week in a friendly against Japan.
He wants to spend the time preparing for the start of the upcoming Spanish league season instead.
"I am trying to reach an agreement with the Cameroon football federation to not make this trip," Eto`o said.
"I have just got back from a tour of Asia and I do not want to have insomnia and other problems again.

"If there is no agreement, I will travel and play and when I return I will be available to the coach if I am in shape," he added.
Cameroon face Japan in Tokyo on 22 August.
Barcelona kicks off its Primera Liga campaign next weekend with a match against Racing Santander.
Eto`o, who injured his right knee last season, said he was nearly back to his best after a good pre-season which saw his side win all of its exhibition matches.
