Injured Romario out of action for four weeks (17.08.2001)
RIO DE JANEIRO,
Brazilian international striker Romario, who picked up a right knee injury during a Brazilian league match on Wednesday, will be out of action for up to a month, team medical sources confirmed on Friday.
The 36-year-old Vasco de Gama player underwent successful surgery on Thursday but is unlikely to be fit to play in Brazil`s World Cup 2002 qualifying match against Argentina on September 5.

Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari had left Romario out of Wednesday`s World Cup qualifier against Paraguay in Porto Alegre, which the Brazilians won 2-0.
Romario admitted that he had been dropped because of poor form.
The last time the veteran played on the national squad was on July 1 when Brazil were defeated 1-0 by Uruguay in their World Cup qualifier in Montevideo.
