South Africa will field a near-full strength side for their friendly against Egypt on Saturday.
This will be the fifth meeting between the two countries, counted among the superpowers of the African game.
However, the result is not likely to matter much for both coaches as they prepare their respective teams for next year`s African Nations Cup finals which start in Mali.
It is rare these days that an African country is able to call upon a full strength squad for a friendly game.
Window
But the World Cup play-offs in Europe have provided a window of opportunity to call up foreign-based players.
Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Queiroz is likely to field a starting line-up made up exclusively of players based outside South Africa.
The Pharaohs are without
sweeper Hani Ramzy, who has been asked to sit out the game by his German club, Kaiserslautern.
Veteran striker Hossam Hassan is also missing but the Egyptians have more than 10 players from European clubs in their squad.
Attacks
The game, at the Johannesburg Stadium opposite Ellis Park, is being played against a backdrop of growing attacks in the media on Queiroz.
The Portuguese coach knows that anything less than a convincing victory will only increase the pressure upon him.
Saturday`s friendly is Egypt`s first game since the controversial draw against Algeria in July which saw them lose out on World Cup qualification.
The North Africans were supposed to play Liberia in Cairo on Wednesday but the Lone Stars only pitched with eight players and the game was cancelled.
