Barcelona are expected to talk with Cameroon’s football federation over the involvement of Samuel Eto’o in the African Nations Cup in January.
The Catalans would lose their prolific front-man for four league matches, something they can ill afford as they struggle to retain their title.
Barca president Joan Laporta and director Alexander EchevarrÃa are set to travel for
talkswith the federation this weekend as Cameroon play a decisive World Cup qualifying match.
The tournament will be played in Egypt, a four hour-flight from Barcelona, and Eto’o has already suggested that he could even play in La Liga simultaneously.
Barca are not discarding any possibility, but what is sure is that they do not wish to lose one of their key players for so many important matches.
