Issa Hayatou was voted in as one of six new members of the
International Olympic Committee on Monday, the third president
of the African soccer authority to join the exclusive club.
Hayatou,
whowas in charge of the Olympic soccer tournament
in Sydney last year, polled 93 votes at the IOC session in
Moscow.
Previous CAF presidents who have been IOC members were
Ydnekatchew Tessema from Ethiopia and Abdel Halim Mohamed of
Sudan.
