Following the tragic death of midfielder Marc Vivien Foe, Cameroon´s football federation is subjecting its national team players to cardiac examinations.
Foe collapsed during a Confederations Cup semi-final game against Colombia in France on 26 June and died as a result of an undetected heart problem.
Twenty-two players called up for a recent German training tour had a thorough cardiac examination under the supervision of Professor Joachim Cyran.
Cyran, a heart specialist at the Heilbronn hospital - near their Bitburg camp - gave
theplayers a clean bill of health.
The tests were conducted before the game against clubside Heilbronn, which the Indomitable Lions won 5-1.
Cameroon manager Winfried Schafer said the decision to medically examine the players would hopefully prevent the national team from having another tragedy on the pitch.
A French charity match, to raise funds for Foe´s family, has been scheduled for 11 November.
The game will feature members of Cameroon´s national side and a team made up of Foe´s former team mates at Lens and Lyon.
